Will Obama legalize online poker?

by BSN

Not sure how much of this has been covered in the poker blogosphere, but the Obama transition team has a Citizen's Briefing Book site set up that utilizes the social media voting aspects of Reddit, Digg, Stumbleupon, etc. to promote ideas upon which the public would like to see the government take action.

The stoners are leading the way with Ending Marijuana Prohibition as the most popular idea, but the poker players are showing up in force as well with a proposal to Boost America's Economy with Legal Online Poker showing up at number 11.

Honestly, my first reaction was that I was bothered that with all of the problems facing the US and world today, legal marijuana and poker showed up ANYWHERE on this list. But then I realized the ability to vote up and DOWN means that these ideas are at the top because they enjoy more universal support than ideas centered on more important issues. Those ideas don't rise to the top because there is a greater division as to how to handle them, not because fewer people voted for them.

Try to remember this before you despair for the future of our society. And vote for legal online poker.
